Lately this blog has had a lot of posts about hospitals and tubes and a frustrated set of parents...but this post is going to be about my delightful little girls! They are currently with Grammy and Papa, and have been all weekend, on a fun getaway with their cousins. I hope they have frolicked in the sun at the farm and come home with dirty shoes and glowing souls. They deserve a little time to be kids!
I just wanted to write down a few of the hilarious things my girls are doing lately.
Elly- Elly has become obsessed with pen and paper, like her sister before her. She regularly grabs a stack of paper squares from my scrap paper basket and sits down at the kitchen table to draw or write. Her favorite things to draw are bunnies and people. Sometimes people turn into bunnies. She also drew a picture of our neighbor's dog and the drain in the bathtub. She continues to love art time at Preschool and always comes home with lots of fun projects.
Her asthma and eczema are crummy right now, but she is so sweet and always handles it well. She is such a snuggly girl and wants hugs and loves all the time, even from people she's just met. Touch is definitely her love language! I am very proud of her and how she's changes in these last few months. She becoming very grown-up and is easier to handle. She's still got LOTS of energy but she can be talked out of her occasional tantrums and is understanding what sorts of behaviors are appropriate when! That's a big step! Four has been a great age so far. I am also very impressed with her writing skills. She started writing later than Eden did, so I assumed she would not enjoy it as much, but she loves writing words and asks me to help her spell out certain things. (Such as, "Mom, how do you spell, 'domo arigato, Mr. Roboto?'" ) Her handwriting is very good for her age. She has a very joyful spirit and we love her so much.
Eden- Eden continues her obsession with dogs. We've seen every different dog breed book come through this house from her library time at school. Chihuahuas, Laboradors, Golden Retrievers, Beagles, Daschunds, Blood Hounds, German Shepherds, and more. Every time she goes to the library she brings home two or three new breeds. Oh wait, I take that back. Once she brought home, "Taking Care of Your Dog." She's so subtle.
We had her conferences with her teacher and she is doing great. She is a high reader and very good at math. She loves school. We're very proud of her. She is still using her beloved nuh-nuh but it is so well loved it is just in scraps. Recently she has started unloading the dishwasher and doing laundry. She also feeds the cat daily. She is so helpful at this age! She's started talking about wanting to be in gymnastics...we'll see. She might have to take piano lessons instead.

I love hearing about your girls. They are such great kids. I remembering loving the age of 4 when Annalise finally reached it! She had terrible twos and threes but the day she turned four was glorious! Enjoy every minute. They get big so fast.
