She's Got Personality

Elly has been using lots of similes lately. Click the link for those of you who don't remember your Junior High English class. I can't seem to forget mine...the teacher painted on her eyebrows and once someone locked her in her closet. I digress.

These are just a couple of the things Elly said today:

"Mommy, I love you. You are as beautiful as a flower. You are so cute...like a baby chihuahua."

"I love that toy [Baby Leapfrog Elephant that sings], she has such as soft voice. As soft as a pillow."

A comparison of two things using "like" or "as"! We'd all be smarter if we'd just locked our teachers in a closet on occasion.

I've always preferred the simile to the metaphor.
