Pocahontas

We got back late last night from our trip to SW Iowa. We had a great time and Eden and Elly (and Marcus) got to ride the newest addition to the Ponderoosa...a small white mare named Pocahontas. Eden is totally smitten. Papa gave her her first real riding lessons and she learned how to mount by herself and how to neck rein. Pocahontas is a really sweet horse that supposedly used to do kiddie carnivals or something so she is really used to being gentle and walking in a circle! Elly also like riding but is much less into horses in general. Big Sis thinks she is the Horse Whisperer! ;)

These two pics are the girls at the New Market Fourth of July Carnival. Eden got to ride the wild one and Elly got to ride the donkey! Papa was proud of his girls. The man supervising the ride praised Eden for doing so well on the wiley horse...he called her "Cool Hand Luke."

Meanwhile...back at the Ranch...Eden is getting comfortable in the saddle on her own.

Eden LOVES horses and I am pretty sure she will be begging to go back to Grammy and Papa's soon. She is our little animal lover.
