Do I Stutter?
Elly stutters. We're not concerned about it though, we're pretty sure it falls into the "thinking faster than the mouth can move" category and it's no big deal. Today she was especially excited and talking a lot. At supper she was telling Dan something and got stuck on some phrase she was trying to utter. Dan gently said to her, "Just take a break. Think about what you want to say." Elly paused, then answered, "Ok. By the way, I am done. It wasn't worth it, what I was trying to say, anyway!"

Both of these quote came from lunch today...
Eden: Mom, what are you talking about?
Me: Oh, just talking to Dad about grown-up stuff.
Eden: It probably has to do with federal prison.
---
Dan: Eden, why is there a piece of chicken in your napkin? Was it gross?
Eden: It was mushy.
Me: It was probably wet from something on your plate.
Eden: Yeah, from peach juice.
Elly: I think it was diseased.

Ellyquent.
I was putting temporary tatoos on Eden and Elly (we only had two) and after doing Eden's just fine, I ruined Elly's. I said, "OH ELLY! I am so sorry!" And she said, "That's ok Mom. A kindful answer turns away the raft."

I pledge allegiance...
Elly was waving the American flag yelling, "I LOVE ETHIOPIA!" and Eden corrected her, "Elly, that's NOT the Ethiopian flag." So Elly started yelling, "Ok, I LOVE IOWA!"

Quite Ellyquent, Part 23
Lately Elly has been hilarious. When Dan is gone, I tend to make different meals than when he is home because he doesn't love my typical *cream-of-something-soup* concoction. Last week when Dan was traveling, I made tuna and noodles. Eden, Elly, and Eden all ate it right up, and Elly declared, "Mom, you really nailed it with this one!"
Her allergies are acting up a bit and she said this morning, "When I cough, it feels like my throat is going to wiggle and come out. And the bones in my throat are going to break and turn into sugar--sugar that you can eat!"

Quite Ellyquent, Part 20
Dan gave Eden 2 Flintstone vitamins and Elly 1 Flintstone vitamin. (this is starting to sound like a word problem from 4th grade math) They both looked down at their hands and Eden said, "I have Pebbles and Dino!" Elly piped up, "I have eczema and Dino!"
The other day, Elly was on my lap. Scratch that, every day Elly is on my lap. This particular day she was kissing me and kissing me and kissing me. I said, "Wow, you're a kisser today" or something like that, and she said, "Yeah, I'm the Bachelor."

First Quotes of the New Year
Eden: If I could turn into a mermaid, that would be sweeeet!
Elly (in her sweetest voice ever): If I could turn into a bear, that would be sweet. A black bear, so I could tear people's eyes out.
